"the Broken Window Theory"

Explain how the Broken Window Theory relates to learning about the law.

The broken window theory relates to learning about the law because it proves that if things were enforced more, society and its people would think twice in many situations. Take the broken window for example. Someone walks by and throws a rock at a window for no particular reason. After he breaks/cracks the window nothing happens. No adults or officers around, just bystanders. That person just got a way with vandalizing private property. Will he/she do it again? , of course. So will another person and then another. The process goes on with no consequences held on the vandalizer. If the first person was stopped the process could of been avoided. Enforcing even the smaller things can provide a even bigger change which goes back to how the broken window theory relates to learning about the law.

Ethics and Human Resources "Discrimination"

Have you ever been discriminated against, known someone who has been discriminated against, or witnessed an act of discrimination? Describe the situation.

I know many people that have been discriminated against but the first story that comes to mind is one told by one of my closest friends. She attends a vocational school for cosmetology. Every year this class attends a hair show located in New Jersey. At this hair show a competition was being held for all students that wanted to participate. Two of my friends (one in which is white and another who is black) decides to enter the competition. Each student were competing to see who does the finest glued in hair. As the competition starts both of my friends asked the instructor a question but the instructor answers each question differently. He answered my black friend with a helpful and understanding response. When my white friend asked the instructor a question their response to her was a bit unfavorable. She was answered with an attitude assuming because she was white she was incapable of doing a glued in weave. Therefore my friend did not compete in the competition. My friend was discriminated against because of a stereotypical gesture. The instructor assumed because she was white, and usually people of white race do not glue in hair they clip in hair, she was incapable of preforming a full glued in weave.
