False Advertising (McDonald's & Burger King)

False Advertising.. Yes or No?

The definition of false advertising is: The practice of making statements about products that the advertiser knows are not true. The claims can be about how the product works, how it is made, or how it will affect people who buy or use it.

Do you believe that McDonald's and Burger King are using false advertising when targeting children and parents in their commercials?

Children in McDonald's and Burger King commercials are often fit, skinny, and in well shape. While other children watch these commercials the first thing on their mind isn't the size and shape of each individual in the commercial, its I want that kids meal they're eating. Children wouldn't know any better, they're less likely to watch there weight and diet. Adults on the other hand know better. They know eating too much fast food can get you obese, unhealthy, and even cause some health issues. Therefore watching a fast food commercial that have actors who are skinny and fit shouldn't make you think eating McDonald's will make you look like them. It all comes down to common sense. Kids may watch these advertising but they don't have the money to buy the food their parents do. Adults(parents) are in control they know things that are healthy and things that are unhealthy. Although a fast food commercial may make you want their food, it doesn't mean your going to buy it. I'm sure if the people in McDonald's and Burger King commercials were overweight and unfit people would still buy it. I don't believe having skinny and in shaped people in fast food advertisement is a part of false advertising because in reality everyone knows whats good for their body and whats not. Everyone should know eating too much fast food is unhealthy, so it isn't false advertising if we all the the truth.
